It's the start of the footballing season again. As a football fan, I decided to create a cleat design in honor of the on going Women world cup, and also the European footballing season.

Haven gotten the primary direction as regards the shape of the cleat, I needed to refine the design to get the desired concept i want. In my design exploration, I experimented with different layering techniques for the upper concept, while i also experimented with different geometric details for the sole details. The middle sketch on the right frame represents the desired design direction from the different sketch explorations.
Here are the final direction for the cleat design. They are rendered in different colorways.

I render designs in clay without textures or colors because it's a good way to conceptualize the lighting of the scene, and also the form of the design. The image was rendered in blender cycles.
Colorway 1
This is the first color concept I rendered. The black is a show of boldness, ruggedness and dexterity. The right frame is an up-close render of the black color concept. The texture used were created in substance painter. It's a collection of multiple textures such as fabric, weave, mesh textures. The sole used was a metal layering to improve the durability of the cleat. To improve the fit of the cleat, an elastic fabric material was used for the upper.
Colorway 2....
This is a combination of colors blue, gold, and nude. The evident color mixture on the upper was inspired by the movement of lighting in the sky after thunder strikes. The texture was inspired by the texture design on a snake skin. This image was also rendered in blender cycles..
